SCHOOL OF HORTICULTURE at LOWTHER

NR Training Ltd – a local independent organisation formed to protect the future of specialist land-based education in Cumbria – has been in partnership with the Lowther Estate since 2021. Using facilities at Lowther Castle & Gardens, including the gardens themselves. NR Training offers courses leading to diplomas and certificates in horticulture and garden design.

Students study with members of the highly experienced staff who were formerly attached to Newton Rigg Agricultural College. Their learning headquarters are based in The Old Shop within the Lowther Castle courtyard.
