Lowther Castle & Gardens is a prizewinning visitor attraction with 125,000 visitors annually. Castle ruins, 130 acres of gardens, a huge adventure playground and a permanent historical exhibition await visitors from far and near. Overall purpose and key objectives
| To ensure that the visitor attraction offers an attractive and welcoming experience by ensuring that designated areas are maintained to high standards of cleanliness and tidiness. |
Overall purpose
| You will work as part of the cleaning team at Lowther Castle to deliver the following: § To follow a scheduled plan of work to keep designated areas clean and tidy. § To provide additional cleaning services for busy periods or when a deep cleaning is required. § To be aware of and adhere to health and safety regulations. |
Main Duties
- Daily cleaning of the toilets and baby changing facilities throughout the site. Cleaning of the gallery, office spaces, meeting room, staircases, and other areas according to a scheduled plan of work. This includes dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning internal glass doors and restroom cleaning/ re-stocking.
- Monitor cleaning supplies and equipment and report shortages when re-orders are required.
- Periodic deep cleaning of premises and other one-off programmes, as agreed with manager. This could include wall washing or cleaning of inside windows.
- Provide additional cleaning services, as requested by the manager, at particularly busy times (for example bank holidays). This will involve monitoring the restrooms and cleaning/restocking as required, monitoring and tidying outdoor seating and delivery areas.
- Provide a clean environment in our admissions exhibition areas.
- Report any maintenance issues requiring repair the manager.
- Keep equipment and work tools tidy and in good working order, reporting any faults to the manager.
- To ensure correct sinage is in place to ensure convenience and safety.
- Work safely, complying with risk and COSHH assessments and other health and safety regulations. Be aware of responsibilities regarding health and safety of themselves and others and act accordingly.
