Early 2024 – special offer

Until Friday 9th February, we are delighted to offer annual passholders the opportunity to bring a friend for free. All the benefits of being an annual passholder available to you will also be available to your friend for the day, including 10% off in the café. You can take advantage of this as many times during the offer period as you like. One friend per passholder per visit. Available from the Admissions Desk only. NB. You must accompany your friend!

Café & Loos

  • The main café (table service) and takeaway, both in the courtyard, open at 10.00am.
  • into the woods (the outdoor café close to the lost castle) is open at weekends during school holidays from mid-morning.
  • There are loos in the courtyard and by the lost castle adventure playground.

Disabled Access

Visitors of all abilities are welcome at Lowther. Some terrain however is not suitable for wheelchairs. Do ask at Admissions if you would like advice. If you would like to drop less mobile passengers off close to the castle, please call 01931 712192 and we will come out to assist. Please note that we give free entry to carers.

Dogs

Well behaved dogs are welcome provided they are kept on their leads at all times. Dogs are not allowed on the lost castle adventure playground.

Exhibition – The Story of Lowther

The exhibition is currently closed. A brand new all-singing, all-dancing exhibition will be revealed later this spring. If you would like to know more, feel free to ask a member of staff at Admissions. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Parking

Parking at Lowther Castle is currently free. At Low Sawmill, there is a modest charge of £5.00 per day. This charge does not apply to (adult) annual passholders who can park there for free.

Smoking

Please note that we are a non-smoking, non-vaping venue. Thank you.
