Lowther’s history stretches far beyond the history of the castle (which was built in 1806-1812). People, places, artefacts, horses, dogs – there are many stories attached to this wonderful place. If you would like to hear some of those stories, join one of the Lowther volunteer guides who will present a thirty minute talk, starting in the courtyard.

The tour will take you through the exhibition, into the castle ruins and onward into the gardens.
